Maintenance Engineer

A newly formed Johnson Controls has begun operations following the successful completion of its merger with Tyco, marking a historic turning point for both companies. By uniting Johnson Controls, the number one provider of building efficiency solutions with Tyco, the number one provider of fire and security solutions, the new company is uniquely positioned as a leader in products, technologies and integrated solutions for the buildings and energy sectors.

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding team in Frome, Somerset. The plant has approx. 75+ employees and manufactures high pressure brass die-casting sprinkler frames.

Specific functions:
To support the Manufacturing operation by maximizing production uptime and capability, by completion of Safety checks, Work Requests, Planned & Preventative Maintenance tasks, Corrective Actions and Project Work. Use initiative to consistently and proactively track and improve equipment safety and effectiveness.


30 % - Completion of Work Requests, planned & Preventative Maintenance tasks, Corrective Actions and Project Work.

30% - Respond to and resolve plant and equipment breakdowns/failures in a controlled and risk assessed manner.

15% - Record and Report all daily work related activity and utilisation.

15% - Work closely with process owners and stakeholders to deliver change through inclusion and team work.

10% - Identify spares requirements and raise purchase requisitions for replacement components, manage spares inventory.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Industrial Maintenance role in a high volume manufacturing environment. Engineer will need to work independently and prioritise work in accordance with goals set, whilst responding to the daily needs of the manufacturing team.
