Land Manager – Housing Group / Developer

Salary – Up to £61,000 plus £5,000 car allowance

Location: Cambridge / Northants

About the Company:

My client is one of the largest Housing Associations in the UK with a 100 year heritage they have provided over 125,000 new homes and currently sit at around £800 million turnover per year. Having reviewed there current position in the market and set new clear objectives for the next 10 years, my client is now targeting the construction of 50,000 new homes, and with it become the UK’s largest house builder. Alongside the already well established land team my client have now decided to add an in-house Technical and Commercial team to further enhance product output and specification. About the Role:

My client is seeking a Land Manager, with experience of planning permissions and land identification and acquisition to assist with their expansion of residential projects across the South Midlands Region. Some of the duties

·To support the Head of Land with sourcing new sites in the South West region.

·Agree option and purchase agreements.

·Work with the Commercial and Technical Team to appraise development opportunities for approval pre and post site purchase.

·Promote the business to agents, landowners and financial institutions. Maintain a high profile with external property contacts and establish relationships with the main aim to extract new land/development opportunities.

·Maintain effective working relationships with local authorities, local agents, land owners and other developers within the divisional geographical area, in pursuit of opportunities for the company.

·Assist with site appraisals; ensure that acquisition proposals are presented, in an objective and professional manner, with required input from other departments before being presented to the Board of Directors.

·Manage a project portfolio at different stages of development, managing schemes at land/planning stages, through design and construction.

·Instruct and manage the planning application process from inception to completion in line with our strategic land plan.

Candidate Requirements:

This role will be primarily based at an office base close to Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a Land Buying role developer/contractor side. The candidate will become the main point of contact between agents, land owners and local authorities. My client is looking for someone to join our team who understands and shares the vision to drive the business forward during their time of aggressive growth, making this opportunity a one of kind to make their own and build out the team.
