Do you have experience in supervising a team of Maintenance Technicians within manufacturing?

You will be interested by this new opportunity and permanent position to join our client's maintenance engineering team, responsible for maintenance systems and personnel onsite. A large business group, with 5000 employees, manufacturing sites across the UK and Europe, supplying advanced technology battery solutions for customers in the aerospace, marine and rail to telecoms, health and energy markets.

You will supervise a front line multi-skilled maintenance team tasked to implement agreed day to day, medium and long term strategies as well as working alongside the other Engineering functions in the commissioning and implementation of new plant and processes, supporting the commissioning of new equipment and ensuring that equipment in place supports efficient Production including the introduction of new products.

The main purpose of this role is to enable this manufacturing facility and its equipment to have maximum production availability and uptime. Activities for this the role will require but not limited to:

Educated to Higher National Diploma or Degree Level Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline
Demon state a minimum of 5 years in a similar role supervising a team of multi-disciplined maintenance technicians Possess strong organisational skills and a leader who can motivate, foster and retain a strong team ethic amongst an autonomous work group.
Possess a thorough technical background in equipment and infrastructure - familiar with fast moving production operation, able to facilitate 24/7 operations.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
Use of MFG Pro, MS Excel software, understanding of Chemistry principles (highly desirable).
Fully conversant with Lean Manufacturing techniques - including TPM, SMED, Kaizen and autonomous teams.
Good knowledge of fixed / variable drives & motors, mechanical handling systems & transmissions
Experience of welding and fabrication of components and assembly's
A confident individual who enjoys problem solving, with excellent communication skills
A passion for knowledge innovation and service with a 'right first time, right every time' mind set
