Claimant RTA Paralegal/Fee earner

City Centre Location, Salary NMW up to £20,000 Per Annum

Your Job

Applicants will be responsible for a caseload from retention until settlement or litigation however there will be a strong emphasis on preparing non-admitted files for litigation.

Applicants should be capable of working individually but also as part of a larger group within minimum supervision.

Duties will include:

Dealing with all aspects of Personal Injury/Road Traffic Accident Claims

Pro-actively maintain your own case load from inception through to Litigation or settlement

Have the ability to plan and prioritise caseloads effectively

Good 'people skills' for building relationships at all levels

Ability to work well in a team

Accuracy with record keeping

Have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Good communication skills both spoken and written

Good eye for detail

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive client information

Be dedicated towards developing a promising career within the firm

Must have experience with dealing with Disputed files prior to being allocated to Litigation

Ability to review files for prospects of success for the purpose of litigation

Drafting emails and letter to clients and third parties

Interviewing clients and drafting statements

Billing & costs

Job Requirements

· A strong understanding of the Pre-action Protocol for RTA’s

· A proven track record of meeting monthly settlement targets

· A strong understanding of the MOJ Portal

Desirable Experience

· Good I.T skills

· Good working knowledge of Ms Office Suite

· Good working knowledge of Proclaim

· Experience in handling Employers and Public Liability claim

· Preferably applicants with law degrees only, however this is not compulsory, applicants without law degrees will have to pursued the firm why they wish to work in the legal sector and why they should be considered for the role.

Applicants with some experience in the following would be advantageous but is not compulsory as training can be provided for progression into the litigation team:

·Part 7 Pleadings

·Part 8b Pleadings

·Portal - Stage 3

·Infant Approval Hearings

·Protected Proceedings

·Drafting pleadings i.e. claim forms, particulars of claim and any other relevant documents as and when required

·Issuing/serving pleadings

·Drafting directions & disclosure lists


· We may be able to offer promotions to the position of litigator.

· We may be able to offer promotions such as team leader or supervisory positions for the right candidate in the future.
