The Role

Do you want to be part of the team that develops our exclusive range of products (OEM) for a FTSE 100 company?

Working with a wide variety of individuals from Europe and Hong Kong, you will play a major part in the team that evaluate new products. You will ensure product quality, safety and customer experiences meet required legal and Group standards.

The role will be to ensure that all (OEM) Domestic Appliance products are technically evaluated in line with risk based evalutation procedures. You will provide detailed evaluation reports outlining your conclusions and recommendations.

By constantly monitoring the performance of products and providing enhanced technical information your actions will help to influence the buying decisions in one of Europe’s largest Electronics retailers.

Working within a small team of highly skilled individuals you will have opportunity to work directly with suppliers and manufacturers you will have the ability to enhance our customer’s “Out of the box” experience.

Main Details and Responsibilities

Product Evaluation

  • Evaluate respective product categories (Domestic Appliances) and advise the Commercial Team as to their suitability of sale;
  • Form strong relationships with suppliers to improve product quality and ease of use in order to drive customer satisfaction, reduce returns and minimize the requirement for after sales support;
  • Provide support in order to resolve issues from pre-shipment inspections and after sales support teams.

Dangerous Product Database

  • Regularly update database of reported incidents. Report any significant occurrences

Product Recall Information

  • Regularly monitor Product Safety websites and record associated recalls from the marketplace.

Legislation Updates

  • Regularly monitor European & UK standards for relevant updates that may affect our business;
  • Update relevant updates to the management team.

Required Skills
  • Experienced to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of product development, safety requirements and quality management procedures
  • Good understanding of current and developing technologies.
  • Able to prioritise workload and deliver accurate results in very tight timescales.
  • A clear communicator at all levels.
  • Good presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commercial sensitivity, understands the impact of role in terms of costs, profits and DSGi image.
  • Full Driving License and Passport
  • To travel worldwide as required

Have a minimum five years’ experience within a similar role


Required Qualifications
  • Experienced to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of product development, safety requirements and quality management procedures
  • Possesses relevant technical qualifications
