Job title: Service Engineer

Salary & Package: Basic salary £27,000 + Paid door to door + Overtime + 26 days holiday + Private healthcare + company pension matched up to 10% + sick pay.

Hours & Shifts: Minimum 38 hours per week – This role will also include staying away from home.

They are responsible for installing over 200,000 chemical dosage systems each year, extracting sludge and bacteria from dirty water ensuring it is clean and safe to drink. They are a true market leader in water recycling, processing 15.5 billion gallons of wastewater a year.

Within the last 5 years they have seen aggressive growth achieving £40million turnover in the UK last year and the company now being worth over £3billion. Due to this growth, my client is looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join their team.

About the role

As a mechanical field service engineer you will be responsible for the installation of smart chemical dosage systems to water plants across the south east of England. You will be tasked with installing PVC and stainless-steel pipes, working from CAD and process instrumentation drawings ensuring pipework meets up. This role also includes using solvent glue to marry the pvc piping together.

You will also be responsible for modifying client orders, this includes modifying pumps, changing filters and adding motors to improve functionality of the system dependent of the needs of the client.

Finally, you may be responsible for the maintenance and decommissioning of old chemical dosage systems.

About you

To be considered for a mechanical fitter with this market leader you will need to have the following;

  • Come from a utilities, water softener, swimming pool background, working with mechanical components.
  • Ideally You will be apprentice trained and hold a recognised mechanical qualification.
  • You must hold a valid UK driver licence & happy to travel across the south east of England.
  • Be comfortable working away from home.
  • Can gel into a small close-knit team.
  • Show initiative, be self-motivated and self-sufficient.
