Staff Nurse - Critical CareFull TimeLondonSalary up to £38,000Our client is seeking to recruit an enthrusiastic RGN to join their team within the Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Rapid Assessment Unit (RAU)Our client is looking to expand the services that they provide by offering a Rapid Assessment Unit for the rapid assessment and admission of acute medical and surgical patients. The RAU is consultant led and managed by an experienced team of intensive care unit fellows and critical care nurses. The team would have direct access to specialist medical and surgical consultant expertise and immediate access to advanced diagnostics such as blood tests and imaging to facilitate patient care.We are looking for enthusiastic nurses to work within the CCU and support this new unit. This would be an ideal opportunity for a motivated nurse that wishes to progress her career into the specialities of CCU and acute assessment.RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in an Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), A&E or high dependency unit, enjoys working as part of a highly motivated team but will show individual drive and initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Your key accountabilities will be;to provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students of the department, with responsibilities including all or most of the following:Work scheduling/rotasInvolvement in recruitment, induction, performance review, attendance management, disciplinary and grievance mattersCompetency assessment, training, development and the mentoring of staffEnsure work is carried out efficiently and to agreed working practice and protocolsLocated in Leeds with excellent transport links to the surrounding area, this Hospital is a highly successful state-of-the-art hospital with a large number of en-suite bedrooms and an large bedded critical care unit, which accepts patients from a range of specialities, including patients who have undergone, cardiac, general or neurological surgery.ShiftsThe usual pattern of work is 12 hour shifts.
