This role requires a resourceful graduate who has an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. You will have the ability to act as a role model to your students and fellow colleagues. You must be passionate, resilient and able to engage with both children and fellow staff. The school do require someone who has previous experience working with 3-5 year olds.

In this Early Years Teaching Assistant post you will be moving throughout the Early Years phase, adding much needed support on an ad hoc basis. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant you will be creating effective and engaging lessons through the use of a wide range of educational resources available in your classroom. You will be teaching with an autonomy and independence that an innovative curriculum provides. In general, you will be preparing for challenges you might face in the classroom by learning the best approach from an accomplished Senior Teacher who has already seen several graduates succeed in their PGCEs.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the class teacher to provide modern, relevant content in exciting lessons; this task will be made easier thanks to Soft play areas and creative play. Part of your role will include supporting pupils who have a statement of SEN, ranging from emotional difficulties to severe ASD, and meeting their individual needs accordingly. Training on personal care will be provided, but this will be an expectation of the role.
