Full Time

DLF Seeds is the largest cool season grass seed business globally, breeding and selling a wide range of agricultural and amenity grass seeds. The UK R & D centre, based near Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, includes a perennial ryegrass breeding programme, the largest forage grass trialling centre in the UK, a large amenity grass trialling programme and plays an important role in marketing of products to the UK grass seed trade.

The position of Trials Technician has become available, to assist in the day to day running of the breeding and trialling activities, and to take responsibility for collection of data using a Haldrup harvester. The work will be mainly field based and of a practical nature but computer knowledge will be a distinct advantage as a windows based computer is housed on the harvester, to assist in the collection of data from the harvesting machine. Work will also involve the maintenance and up keep of machinery, equipment and the field trials, as well as assisting in the day to day running of the trials and breeding programmes.

Ideally candidates should have good experience of farm equipment and practices and be computer literate. The ability to work systematically and accurately, with good record keeping and attention to detail is important and a full UK driving licence is essential. A formal Agricultural qualification would be preferable and PA1, 2 and 6 certificates would be an advantage, but practical knowledge and ability to service and repair equipment will be over riding requirements.

We offer a good remuneration and benefits package.
