Analyse and evaluate risk and propose and negotiate policy terms, including appropriate limitations and endorsements
Review and check insurance quote submissions, referrals and amendments, liaising with Agents to establish material facts to ensure new business and policy changes meet the companies Underwriting criteria
Process and refer policy cancellations, investigating and evaluating disclosures and non-disclosure of material facts in liaison with Agencies
Audit cases in line with audit procedure and regulatory requirements to identify training needs or other remedial actions
Deliver short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager
Coach, train and guide colleagues on more complex risks, technical and customer service areas to improve their knowledge and support effective decision making
Deliver technical support and assistance to Agents, accompanying them on client visits to improve understanding of and establish risks and enhance the companies reputation


A demonstrable track record of underwriting mid-market commercial business
Demonstrable self motivation with drive and energy to advance the business and your own career
First class oral and written communication skills
An eye for the detail and able to work quickly and accurately
Confident in communicating with internal and external customers
Excellent telephone manner and strong inter-personal skills in order to build strong working relationships with our agency network, regional service centres and customers
Dedication and commitment that is demonstrated in the ability / desire to take on additional responsibilities in a demanding area of the business
