In this role you will provide technical expertise and inspirational leadership for all site based technical requirements including: reactive maintenance; planned maintenance; and life cycle maintenance schedules at the site. You will deliver key strategic objectives to ensure that the site remains at peak operational performance across all hard services and ICT.

You will be working 5 days out of 7 and will form part of the management team leading the development and progression of the technical services on site. In addition to your salary of £40,000 - £42,000 + performance related bonus of up to 5% you will receive a benefits package which includes healthcare, pension, life insurance and 25 days holiday + bank holidays!

You will be working closely with the operations manager and regional manager to ensure that the maintenance function is run smoothly and efficiently.

As the Technical Services Manager you will lead, manage and motivate an in house multi skilled maintenance team with the assistance of a maintenance manager. You will be an excellent communicator, a clear decision maker and an approachable people manager with a good all-round knowledge of employee relations.

In addition the Technical Services Manager will set performance targets, monitor results and achieve targets to drive operational improvement, ensure first class relationships and the delivery of exceptional customer service levels are achieved at all times.


To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate;

  • A background in the management of maintenance engineering staff (5+ in size) – Preferably on a large single estate.
  • Technical background in building services - ideally electrically bias
  • Experience of CAFM systems
  • Experience of managing reactive & preventative maintenance programmes.
  • The ability to carry out lifecycle maintenance planning.
  • Budgetary management experience in excess of £500,000.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes.

Technical qualifications required for this role:

  • Recognised mechanical apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering - Preferably Electrical

Candidates with knowledge of BMS systems are highly desirable.


This role is a site based position in Stoke on Trent and is commutable from Stafford, Crewe, Congleton and Leek.

You may have experience as one of the following: Technical Services Manager, Maintenance Manager, Technical Manager, Technical Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, Lifecycle Maintenance Manager, Building Services Manager or Contracts Manager
