Systems Engineering Manager - IFF

Systems Engineering Manager - IFF: A major Defence Engineering company are looking to recruit a Systems Engineering Manager - IFF to work at one of their southern sites to be responsible for ensuring a Systems Engineering approach in the design and development of the equipment and components that comprise the Contractor Supplied Systems

Project is based in Bristol, so extensive travel to there is required!!!!!

Systems Engineering Manager - IFF Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the design, development of equipment to meet the specifications contained in the Equipment System Specifications (ESS) and Installation System Specifications (ISS).
* Ensure that a safe and fit for purpose solution, that meets all the Authority requirements is delivered.
* Operate as a locally acknowledged expert in order to ensure technical solutions are robust, innovative and in line with customer expectations.
* Ensure engineering team size and capability mix is optimised for successful delivery of the project.
* Provide leadership, coordinate activities and ensure the engineering team operates in a highly collaborative way.
* Responsible for delivering the engineering aspects of the mode 5 project within the performance, cost, and time envelopes agreed with the customer.
* Proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
* Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals.
* Managing the evaluation and mitigation of all risks which impact the engineering solution.
* Provides day to day interaction with our partner Hensoldt, building rapport which means liaising over the phone, email or in person and support our partner Hensoldt in the reporting and achievement of milestones through the relationship.

Systems Engineering Manager - IFF Required Skills
* Educated to degree level in engineering related subject or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience of managing engineering teams in a partnering environment.
* Knowledge and experience of working into military platform level design organisations.
* Knowledge of current and future technologies associated with Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Systems.
* Knowledge and experience of the UK MoD test and evaluation and release-to-service processes for land, sea and air domains.
* Knowledge of UK MoD procurement and system design processes e.g. MoDAF.
* Strong leadership skills. Ability to foster and develop effective working relationships in diverse situations.

The successful candidate will be required to achieve security clearance prior to start!!!!!
