Residential Support Worker : FarnworthOur client is a specialist, independent social care organization who operate a number of residential and supported living units across the region. The job role entails providing supervision and support for children and young people aged 8-18 within our registered childrens homes. Applications are therefore welcomed from experienced Residential Childrens Care Workers with proven ability to support young people who have been the victims of trauma and are extremely vulnerable.To apply or to discuss in more detail please apply or call Martin from Major Healthcare on 0 - 151 - 252 - 0010 Please see more job details below.This is a permanent full time post where you must be willing to work to a rota that can include working Days, Nights, Weekends and Sleeps.Essential Job Requirements • Experience working in a Residential Home for Children • Ability to work alongside staff teams to provide a high level of care. • Encourage the young people to be motivated and take part activities, education and extracurricular activities. • Provide a safe environment for the young people in our care. • Ensure record keeping and administrative duties are met including care plans and all relevant paperwork is updated. • Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins. • Full UK driving licence and a car available for work use with business insurance.Desirable Attributes • Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Persons Workforce, Social Work Degree or equivalent or willingness to work towards the above Level 3 qualification. • Knowledge of current legislation. • Experience of Ofsted inspections. • Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people. • Experience of EBD, MH, LD, Autism, Challenging BehaviourThe salary for the Residential Childrens Support Worker role will be dependent on the level of qualifications and experience.The successful applicant for the Residential Childrens Worker role will be expected to demonstrate commitment to training and development and must be capable of adapting their work practice to the ethos of the home. Salary: Between £16640 and £18,720 per Annum plus additional sleep in payments (£30 per sleep which can add up to £3600 per year) Depending On Experience, Qualifications and Shift Pattern This can lead to a total salary of up to £22320Successful applicants will be required to apply for enhanced DBS disclosure.
