Robert Half Finance & Accountancy are pleased to be supporting our client on the recruitment of a new Financial Controller position with a good SME business based in Letchworth. This is the senior finance person in the business with one direct report, you would be working closely with the UK MD and helping to run the business on a day to day basis. This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant with Controller level experience to help run a profitable exciting business.

Role

The Financial Controller will hold a highly responsible position, responsible for overseeing and managing all of financials of the UK business. This includes:

-Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded and reported

-Prepare and report monthly management accounts, and report to Head Office

-Provide monthly analysis and variance report to Head Office

-Full responsible for reconciliation of general ledger and prepayment/accruals

-Manage cash flow, ensure that debtors pay on time

-Prepare budget and estimate report to Head Office (responsible for overhead budget)

-Complete UK VAT returns and payment, EC sales list and intrastate

-Prepare information for Austrian VAT and German VAT return to agents for filing

-Prepare and review corporation tax and responsible for tax instalments

-Monthly payroll calculation and review PAYE report from payroll agent

-Prepare statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors

Profile

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant (AC, ACCA, CIMA) who has held a senior finance position in an SME business in the past and who has broad experience across all areas of accounting from month end to VAT, dealing with auditors and

Salary & Benefits

A good base salary of £50,000 plus bonus pension and medical and 20 days holiday.
