Main function of job:To work with the Legal Advisers to ensure that billing and the management of work in progress on client matters is carried out promptly and efficiently.
Main Duties:- Maintaining a close understanding of Work in Progress and disbursementbalances in the designated PG- Reviewing Work In Progress to maximise monthly billing, working closely with Fee Earners to ensure their matters are billed regularly and any write off/downrequests are dealt with according to the policy- Completing reports for aged WIP, prioritising 30+ for monthly bills & 90+ for quarterly bills, working collaboratively with Fee Earners to ensure matters are sent to bill- Dealing with interim, final and disbursement billing;- Following up draft invoices with Fee Earners to ensure they are approved andissued to clients- Producing monthly bills for the Practice Group;- Dealing with all billing and ledger queries, including creating credit notes where needed;- Liaising with other members within the Finance department to ensure queries are dealt with quickly;- Liaising with legal advisers and credit control team to ensure that unpaid bills and disbursements are collected promptly;- Ensuring at all times that general administration duties are kept up to date and in line with the operational standards e.g. filing/ archiving etc;- To provide cover between the hours of 9.00am – 5.30pm and have a flexibleapproach to working hours and overtime as and when the business requires;- Undertaking any others duties that are deemed necessary to support theCompliance team and the business as and when required;- Following all the Firm’s policies and procedures;- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to performdifferent tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
