Application Support Analyst (£50,000 - £52,000) – London


My client a leading financial organisation is looking for an Application Support Analyst to join a team of 5, its primary role will be to provide technical support for the business users and to investigate & resolve complex application incidents and problems centrally.


Experience with Solvency II applications Not Required.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support for the Solvency II suite of applications for global business users.
  • Investigate and resolve environment & application issues, liaising with internal and external service providers where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain standards for application sizing, performance modelling etc.
  • Produce, maintain and improve technical/service support documentation.
  • Prepare and undertake deployments using automated tools as appropriate.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and maintain related documentation.

Requirements:

Linux/Unix with shell scripting ;Oracle (or other transactional SQL); SQL Database interrogationStrong experience within a support analyst role, at either 2nd or 3rd line, supporting complex services.Strong analytic and technical problem solving skills across applications and infrastructure.Strong exposure and understanding of application infrastructure, including grid computing environments.Ability to take ownership and responsibility of issues and manage effectively through to resolution.Excellent stakeholder skills, ability to effectively listen, communicate, challenge and influence team members, immediate peer group, and senior managers.Ability to liaise with product vendors and 3rd parties to clarify solution requirements.Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in pressurised, stressful and uncertain situations.Experience working within a service management framework, and familiarity with robust incident management, problem management and request fulfillment processes.
