As testament to their continued success my client is adding to their existing Engineering team with a Tooling Engineering Assistant. Based at the ultra-modern manufacturing site you will create a vital link between Engineering and customer and reporting all detail to the Tooling Manager. Tooling Engineering Assistant

Job Purpose

To support the Tooling team by assisting in the effective introduction and on time delivery of tooling for customer programs (NPI), to assist the Tooling manager with related tasks for new and existing tooling.

To support the quotation process by preparing documentation for suppliers and customers alike

Responsible for ensuring our current drawing control system is up to date and accurate.

Main Success Criteria

Ability to interrogate the customers CAD and drawings and extract the information

Use of Catia would be advantageous however training would made available

Ability to use Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project

Good communication skills is essential

Mechanical Engineering is advantageous

Duties & Responsibilities

Co-ordinating internal activities: -

Arranging despatch and receipt of all tooling

Liaise with production to ensure sufficient stock is in place to allow tool work.

Organising in house tooling modification

Procedural compliance - Ensure all documents and maintenance of records including drawing control is up to date at all times.

Liaise with Quality and Engineering department on new tooling and prepare PFU’s

Assist tooling team with daily activities

Health, Safety & Environmental Requirements

a)Comply with applicable Health and Safety and Environmental Laws, Procedures, and general safe working practices.

b)Consider our Health and Safety and Environmental policies (available for review in the Customer Care Centre), and adhere to signs, posters, warning signals and written directions.

c)Be familiar with the Company’s Emergency Procedures and the muster point for your area in the event of an Emergency.

d)Be aware of potential hazards associated with the work and work area; know where information on these hazards is kept for review (Risk Assessments); and use this information when needed. If you are unsure ask.

e)Follow Procedure Sheets and Work Instructions including any specific guidelines and do not perform any task you are not qualified or trained to perform in a safe manner.

f)Use Personal Protective Equipment appropriate for the task.

g)Stop work if there is any concern or potential hazard to Health or Safety or the Environment, and immediately notify your immediate supervisor/manager.

h)Warn co-workers and report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, defective equipment and other hazards to your immediate supervisor.

i)Participate in Health and Safety and Environmental training and Continuous Improvement activities.
