A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Automation Engineer to join a world class Process, Packaging and Control organisation providing engineering solutions for the Aerosol, Coating, Sealant & Pharmaceutical Industries.

Our client is based in Basildon, Essex, in a purpose built design, engineering and manufacturing building, employing around 55 people at this site. The company specialise in the design and assembly of filling and packaging lines for aerosols with a high proportion for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Automation Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as following:

1. Designing PLC based electrical control systems and programming PLC and touch screen systems.

2. Configuring Remote I/O, configurable safety relays and inverter drives. Fault finding electrical control systems PLC and Hardwired systems.

3. Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines, such as vision systems.

4. Some travel will be required. This includes commissioning, support and service work at customers' sites globally.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Automation Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. The role is varied and requires a good understanding of electrical drawing packages, control panel specification/design and PLC programming knowledge using a variety of manufacturers PLC touch screens and controls. Along with an understanding of vision and SCADA systems.

2. A relevant engineering qualifications such as a HNC/HND or apprentice trained. Proven industry experience with packaging machinery is desirable, either in the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Chemical or Food and Beverage industries.

3. Experience of working within a hazardous environment, with a specific understanding of explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable.
