This is a great opportunity to join one of our leading clients, an £800m turnover Main Contractor specialising in large scale civil engineering projects. Our client boast a long track record in all aspects of civil engineering from major infrastructure projects in the water, road and bridges sectors to specialist expertise in structural solutions across a variety of sectors in the UK. Together we are looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join the team on a four month contract, specifically working on a train station remodelling scheme in East London.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of project work on rail, roads and civils packages.

Responsibilities will include:

- Management of site teams and project office staff; reporting directly to Senior Project Manager
- Responsible for production of all Health & Safety documentation and quality paperwork
- Implementation of design schedules, drawing registers, TQ registers, change registers etc
- Delivery of weekly main programme updates and weekly look-aheads
- Design, submission and acceptance of Value Engineering options
- Full resource planning, including forecasting labour flow and material/plant management
- Monitoring/control of actual costs vs accepted cost plan
- Responsible for team of Site Engineers
- Sub-contract management (including scope of works, commercial and contractual management, and budget control)
- Coordination of sub-contract designs
- Liaison with architect and designers to resolve design issues, providing design solutions where required
- Temporary Works supervision

Skills and Experience:

- Applicants will have a proven track record of working as a Section Engineer on high profile rail schemes
- CSCS / PTS card and have a minimum of 8/10 years site experience
- SMSTS and First Aid will be an advantage but not essential
