IT Support Engineer

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 + 10% Shift Allowance

Hours: 24x7 Shift Pattern – 4 days (07:30AM – 19:30PM), 4 days, 4 nights (19:30PM – 07:30AM), 4 days

Location: Aldgate, London

Your new role

A role within our 1st Line Managed Services Service Desk gives you the responsibility of providing IT support to a wide range of clients, by troubleshooting server infrastructure issues. Each solution we provide is bespoke, so each client infrastructure is different, which results in an extremely varied day-to-day. You will have every opportunity to grow and progress at the rate in which you achieve.

    Ensuring calls are quickly responded to, escalated, closed or resolved within SLAsProactive monitoring of customer’s server alerts and resolving as necessary.Deliver 1st/2nd Line Infrastructure support to a variety of clients and technologiesEscalate issues to 2nd and 3rd Line teams as required

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To undertake the role within our managed service team, we are looking for somebody with a good base knowledge around Microsoft Server fundamentals, and exposure to virtualisation. You do not need to be the finished package, but we expect a passion, and desire to progress. We support a large number of clients, and continue to grow so expect an extremely fast-pace.

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow, ITIL v3 Framework and/or Service Desk procedures
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting server infrastructure issues
  • Experience with proactive server monitoring
  • Capability of performing within a fast paced environment
Experience with supporting most of the following at a 1st Line level:

  • Virtualised server environments (VMWare/Hyper-V)
  • Windows Server 2008R2 - 2016
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange 2007 – 2016/Office 365
  • CITRIX
  • SharePoint
Ideally, you will have attained an industry standard certification or have knowledge to an MCSA level.
