The Company

With over 100 sites worldwide our client is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of plastic packaging and containers for the FMCG, Pharmaceutical and Food sectors. Producing Millions of Containers per year, the Aylesbury site is one of their largest and most modern production facilities in the UK.

The Role

The Maintenance Engineer will be response for both Reactive Breakdowns and Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks, split between electrical and mechanical work. The plant has four Blow Moulding lines each producing 30 containers a minute.

Due to the volume the site is producing the Engineers take a more proactive approach to the Maintenance work, rather than just reacting to Breakdowns with 70% to 80% of all the work being PPM based.

Electrically the Maintenance Engineer will be required to fault find using a multimeter against electrical drawings down to component level, then change the faulty part. Mechanical work would include fault finding, stripping and replacing components such as bearings, rollers, actuators, compressors and pneumatic systems.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

  • Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification.
  • Must have experience performing maintenance tasks on Electromechanical systems.

Thanks to their excellent training program and the bespoke nature of their lines, the client is able to take candidates with no experience within an automated manufacturing environment. As such they are keen to speak to candidates who are looking to break into an automated production, including candidates who have recently left the Armed Forces.
