Their award-winning cruise port, the second busiest in the UK, hosts some of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines. Their portfolio is diverse other successful business include a cargo terminal, award winning marina and several niche activities.

This is truly an exciting time to be part of their growing organisation. The Dover Western Docks Revival Project, the single biggest investment undertaken by the Port, will create a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility at the Port, which currently handles up to £119 billion of UK trade each year.

They now have exciting opportunities for two Civil Engineers to join their team where you will assist in the project management, design and supervision of port related engineering works, delivering large to medium multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion in a live port environment.

One role will focus on structural engineering in respect of capital and maintenance work while the other will have responsibility for the preparation and delivery of long-term development plans for the Ferry Terminal.

Within each role you will provide technical advice and solutions on civil and structural engineering maintenance works where appropriate. Preparing designs, contract documentations, specifications, drawings and risk and environmental assessments for the execution of civil and structural engineering, you will liaise with architects, consultants, quantity surveyors and contractors and will manage activities to ensure contractual compliance.

They are looking for someone who has a BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering coupled with experience of civil engineering design and a thorough understanding of the design process, ideally within a Port or Marine environment, although this is not essential. With a proven track record in project managing civil engineer projects, and of being involved in the construction phase of these projects, you will have a demonstrable understanding of NEC3 and of CDM regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
