Behaviour Therapist will be working at Ruddington Way alongside the manager and external professionals. There may be occasions where you are required to work at other locations within the portfolio and significant travel may be required together with some overnight stays. Job Purpose As a Behavioural Therapist you are expected to provide leadership in the management of behaviour which causes distress or concern; to people with learning disabilities and mental health needs living at Ruddington Way; or to others. This is achieved by providing expertise, advice and support to the staff team at the residential service. You may also be required to offer the same support in nursing, residential and supported living services, the completion of comprehensive behaviour assessments and the development of effective risk assessments and detailed behaviour support plans. The improved outcomes for individuals will be monitored and protocols and staff training implemented accordingly. To contribute to the education and training of staff in working with people who present challenge. To provide a specialist advisory service and practical support to people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Duties / ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for the behaviour management needs of individuals referred to Ruddington Way.Undertake behaviour assessments of individuals in collaboration with operational staff, liaising with other disciplines as requiredProduce assessment reports, risk assessments and intervention plans to enable individuals and staff to support appropriate behaviour and where relevant behaviour change or eradication.Monitor the implementation of agreed strategies to ensure a successful outcome for individuals.Undertake direct work with individuals who present challenging behaviours and who require support to improve quality of their lives.Provide written reports to Senior Managers on caseload management including cases closed, opened and progress on those still in management to assist in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of service provided.Participate in delivering formal training and education to staff who work at Ruddington Way in understanding and supporting people with challenging behaviour, ensuring competencies are achieved and maintained in practical procedures.Monitor and support staff and teams utilising behaviour change techniques to ensure that appropriate techniques are practised.Promote community presence, participation and opportunities for 'ordinary living' for people and in doing so facilitate the principles of choice, individuality and independence.Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of quality assurance initiatives with regard to local operational services specifically related to behaviour management.Manage the development and implementation of behaviour change programmes in accordance with the values and priorities of the organisationProduce written reports or assessment profiles in accordance with the requirements of the organisation or external agencies to provide guidance to staff and ensure consistency and also to demonstrate to purchasers the professional action taken to support individuals for whom we provide a service.Participate in and undertake research projects agreed by the Operations DirectorParticipate in relevant external multi disciplinary meetings with a view to positively contributing to improving operational performance and responses to concerns about the behaviour and / or behaviour management needs of an individual.Carry out all other such activities as may be delegated by senior managersClick Apply to complete our one page application…….All applications & CV's are reviewed on a daily basis.
