Due to a recent restructure of their Purchasing Department, my client, a successful and innovative Chemical Manufacturing business in North Yorkshire, requires a Category Buyer to join their team.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and working closely with the Ops team, you will be responsible for managing all purchasing activity including;

• Raw Materials
• Factored and subcontracted items
• Packaging
• Utilities & photocopier contracts
• Maintenance, Repair & Operations Supplies, including Operations PPE
• Marketing and promotion products
• Workwear and stationery supplies

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker that can drive efficiency within the team.

Strong analytical skills are required, with the ability to troubleshoot potential supply issues, able to mitigate risk across the Department when required.

A strong communicator is required that will allow the business to build and develop effective relationships with suppliers for all channels.

Essential skills and qualifications required for this role;

Full (or min Level 4) CIPS qualification.
Purchasing experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of SAGE X3 or another ERP system.
MS Office knowledge, with good Excel ability.
