Are you an Engineer experienced in Seatbelt and Safety System Design looking to join a leading Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer?
If so, Assystem have an opportunity for you! One of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Safety System Design Engineer. They require a Design Project Manager / Engineer specialising in airbag design, to help them develop automotive products that will reduce injury and preserve the lives of drivers and passengers in the event of a road traffic crash. Based in the UK you will be working within a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Safety Engineers.
Within the role of Seatbelt and Safety System Design Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for: •Parts development and system performance planning from 'cradle to grave' for the airbag systems on European vehicles •Supplier and project management for all aspects of OEM development•Working collaboratively with internal and external contacts to produce world-class safety products to quality and timing targets and within budget
To be considered for this engineering role you will ideally have the following knowledge, skills & experience:•Experience in working for an OEM or tier 1 supplier•Previous supplier management experience, working together to resolve issues and meet project timelines•Utilise all company material plus your own research capabilities relating to industry developments and changing legislation•Experience developing components relating to seat belts, airbags, steering wheels, firing loops and sensors•A minimum of 3 years Project Management experience gained within a safety-related engineering department
