We are seeking to recruit a motivated and professional individual to assist in maximising profitability and ensuring the efficient and businesslike management of our shop in Newbury.

The Role:

Our Assistant Shop Manager will work with the Manager and team to maximise the shop’s sales & profits and be an ambassador for Helen & Douglas House, supporting & endorsing the aims and objectives of the charity. This is achieved by applying entrepreneurial skills and by putting the shop at the heart of the community.

Our unique & vibrant Newbury charity shop is home to a specialist bridal shop taking the top floor of the shop. The Bridal floor stocks a wide range of high quality new and preloved wedding dresses and other bridal wear, including page boy and bridesmaids outfits, hats, shoes, tiaras and much more.

Who we are looking for:

Our Assistant Shop Manager will hit the ground running in this busy, people focused role, and the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Educated to GCSE level with passes in English and MathsExperience in a customer facing environment and the ability to deliver excellent customer serviceExperience of developing and implementing plans to maximise sales potentialStrong organisational and administration skillsComputer literateAbility and confidence to manage staff in a variety of situationsExperience of managing staff teams in a variety of retail sectors and/or management experience within a Charity Shop would be an advantageWorking Pattern:

Your normal working pattern will change each week, subject to the needs of the business and the levels of staff and volunteers available to work, and will involve a significant element of weekend working
