An exciting opportunity for an engineering apprentice has become available to join our client, a successful engineering company Stourbridge. You will train in all areas of the business, but specialise in one area over time. The areas you will work in include inspection and machine area. You will be working on parts for the aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, defence and automotive industries. You will be trained to operate all types of machinery.

You will train in all areas of the business, but specialise in one area over time. The areas you will work in include inspection and machine area. You will be working on parts for the aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, defence and automotive industries.

The training will take place in our academy situated in Dudley where you will be required to attend a 6 week programme prior to starting the apprenticeship and you will spend 2 days per week gaining your Level 1 Certificate in Engineering. On successful completion of this, you will move onto your apprenticeship where 1 day a week will be spent in classroom/workshop based learning to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology and 4 days with your employer. On successful completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will then be ready to progress to a Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme.

Your day-to-day tasks may include but are not limited to:

·Training and working in the inspection area

·Training and working on CNC turning precision machines

·Operating grinding machinery

·Training and working on CNC milling machines

·Keeping area tidy

·Monitoring machinery and reporting any faults

The desired skills and personal qualities you will need:

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade C (4) or above in Maths and English and at least 3 other qualifications.
