The Role

Will be working as part of the regionally based Infrastructure team.

Working with this team will involve preparing specifications, engineering drawings and collating all technical information.

Taking information and leasing with clients through site visits and design meetings.

Liaising with clients, wider design team, statutory authorities, contractors, etc.

Undertaking site surveys and writing reports.

Preparing and checking designs, drawings and calculations.

Carrying out contract management on delegated schemes.

An understanding of projects both during design and construction.


In this role, you will be responsible for civil engineering/infrastructure design, including

preparation and collation of infrastructure related designs, calculations and specifications.

You will build and maintain client relationships and relationships with any subcontractors.

You will manage small projects and document progress through bespoke systems ensuring that all checks and approvals have been completed.

You will work mainly on Rail Infrastructure projects which will include, bridges, signalling upgrade schemes and some platform and station development.

You will work closely with and become part of a team of industry leading design engineers.

You will already have significant experience in infrastructure design (below ground drainage, services coordination, cut/fill, pavement design and external levels and an excellent understanding of projects both during design and construction phases.

You will be conversant with UK Codes of Practice, Design Standards, Building Regulations and Health and Safety.

You will be either chartered or near chartered with the Institution of Civil Engineers or similar.

You will also have excellent design skills and be able to competently undertake computer based analysis using AutoCAD/Civils3D/ WinDes (MicroDrainage) software.


Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Chartered of Near Chartered

Driving Licence

Experience in design software AutoCAD/Civil3D/Windes/(Microdrainage)

Experience of computer based analysis
