Ceramic Ink Process Development Engineer: A fast paced company in the clean energy sector needs an Ink Process Development Engineer.

Ceramic Ink Process Development Engineer Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for process engineering activities in the Ink Manufacturing department within the fuel cell manufacturing group.
* Analyze operational metrics, inline process performance, as well as end of line product performance, and define reaction plans.
* Define preventive and corrective actions to eliminate root cause of failures.
* Deliver productivity improvements and cost reductions for Ink Manufacturing.
* Drive SPC charts, tool matching, and yield improvement.
* Qualify and release new manufacturing equipment to production.
* Develop and sustain processes, operating procedures, and related documentation.
* Work in cross-functional teams with Quality, Product Development and Manufacturing team to develop manufacturing procedures for new generations of technology.
* Development of new manufacturing processes of ink slurries for fuel cells.
* Ceramic ink formulations (aqueous and non-aqueous)
* Tailoring material microstructure to desired cell performance.
* Ink preparation techniques (ball-milling, vibro-milling, triple roll milling, others).
* Ink application techniques (transfer, spraying, screen/pad printing, others).
* Pre-application characterization techniques: rheology, particle size analysis, others.
* Post-application characterization techniques: SEM, electrochemical testing, others.
* Develop characterization methods of inks.
* Develop economic and effective manufacturing procedures with scale-up from lab to manufacturing
* Coordination of projects with external suppliers and partners.
* Defining new process chains as well as optimization of existing processes in terms of quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Ceramic Ink Process Development Engineer Experiences:
* MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry preferred.
* Process engineering in high tech manufacturing, such as semiconductor, hard disk, or solar industries.
* 5 years in manufacturing environments, with hands-on process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and sustaining experience, both in a process development group and in a mass production environment.
* Owning a process module in both a development and a high volume manufacturing environment, along with a proven track record of defining processes and procedures for manufacturing.
* Exposure to both thin film and thick film processing, including subsequent high temperature operations and knowledge of electrochemistry.
* Manufacturing inks and pastes, and related metrology and characterization.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand interaction of hardware and process as they affect the final product.
* Demonstrated track record of solving manufacturing yield problems.
* Methodical approach to process development with depth in data analysis associated with SPC, DOE, pFMEA, fishbone analysis. Working knowledge of a wide suite of data analysis software (MiniTab, Excel VBA macros, MatLab) is a plus.
* An enthusiasm for learning within the field of fuel cell inks.
