Year 6 Interventions Teacher, Merton, ASAP Start
A welcoming and vibrant 3 form entry in the borough of Merton are looking for an experienced interventions teacher to join their team on a long term basis, for the remainder of the academic year. For the right candidate, the position could become permanent. The role is to start as soon as possible, and will be for 5 mornings a week. On Thursdays you will be paid for a full day, however you will only be teaching in the morning and the afternoon will be devoted to planning and marking.
The role will involve teaching English and Maths to a group of 13 children, all working below the national curriculum level. The children have varying educational needs, with some of the pupils within the group working at Year 4 and 5 level, and one child working at Year 1 level. One child is on an EHCP but he will have a 1:1 support assistant with him. There are no significant behavioural needs in the group.
You will be joining a highly reputable school with a 'Good' OFSTED rating, and an inclusive ethos whereby staff place children at the heart of everything that they do. The Head Teacher heavily invests in teaching staff and places great emphasis on their personal development and welfare, offering paid Inset days, as well as regular peer observations and appraisals. In order to be considered for the role, you must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to provide at least 2 valid teaching references in the past 5 years. It is essential that you have QTS, as well as experience teaching the primary curriculum at different year groups, ranging from Year 1- Year 6.
