Our client, has a growing software development team, which is currently managed by the Software Development Manager who specialises in ORACLE and APEX. The joint development team is located in Farnborough and Goa (India). This job requires the appointee to manage the team tasks for technical projects as well as day to day support incidents handling.

You will work closely with the MOD and Education sector customers, understanding their business needs and developing the required technical solutions assisted by the team as appropriate.

You will be responsible for many SQL databases, providing administrative or training others to carry out DBA type tasks as necessary.

You will work with the Software Development Manager to create processes and procedures in support of ISO 27001 and technical tasks management in general.

You will have opportunities to travel to Goa and take an interest in the business activities there. However, this is not a mandatory requirement.

Our clients’ Software Team members have excellent skills and also enjoy physical challenges as part of the team building exercises. You will be expected to participate (as much as you can) and encourage good health and camaraderie.

Roles/Responsibilities:

·Manage the Software Team tasks in conjunction with the Software Development (UK and Goa staff)

·Draft/Review technical processes and procedures used by the Software team. These must be aligned with ITL (2011).

·Understand and implement ISO 27001 requirements

·Meet customers to agree and document their business requirements and translate them to technical solutions

·Design test methods/plans for software projects

·Support team members as required

·Chair team meetings as and when tasked by the Software Development Manager

·Manage the ‘Request For Change’ (RFC) documents as initiated by the client or SPOC

·Assist the Software Development Manager in planning career development for team members

·Draft technical documents in support of the development tasks

·Conduct routine staff interviews

·Attend Management Boards meetings as required

·Management Support. Assist the Management, including the management staff in Goa as required

Technical Skill/Qualifications

·MCSE or equivalent in BI/data warehousing technologies

·MCSE or equivalent in Business Applications

·MCSA SQL 2016 Database Administration

·Expert in one or more of the following;

oC#

oASP.Net

oHTML5

oJavaScripts

oVB.NET

oCSS3

·Good understanding of MS Access

·Good ability in all MS Office Applications

·SSIS knowledge and skills

General Skills:

·Excellent written and verbal communications.

·Team Management

·Social skills - ability to be comfortable in large groups and when interacting with customers

·Hold a full and valid Driving Licence

Travel Requirements:

As part of your role you may be required to travel to client sites from time to time. Company cars are to be used, unless all vehicles have been booked, in which case you may use your car and claim mileage.

Personal transport, Bike or a Car is necessary as our clients’ office area doesn’t have regular public transport facilities.
