Design Engineer required for our client who is an automotive tooling manufacturer that specialises in process-assembly tooling and manufacturing jig-fixtures.
Our client specialises in facilities and tooling emergencies and quick turnaround of bespoke manufactured products, such as:
Precision-engineered tooling (including fixtures and jigs - one-off or multiple)
Heavy-duty and medium-duty vertical mechanisms for DC torque wrenches
Fabrication of mezzanine floors, system under-guarding, staircases, platforms/walkways and barriers/machine guards
Our client is growing in both size and popularity due to the successful delivery of multiple and diverse projects over the past four years and we urgently need to grow our design capacity due to increasing workload.
Applicants must have strong 3D and 2D CAD modelling/drawing experience and mechanical engineering qualifications/extensive experience and the ability to fit in to the role very quickly is a must-have.
Ideally, the new design engineer will have a toolmaker or machine shop background. CAD experience with 3D and 2D is essential, preferably with Autodesk Inventor.
You will be responsible for supporting, designing and aiding the production of jig-fixtures, gauges and tooling from creation through to production. The bulk of the workload will be delivering 3D and detailed 2D drawings for manufacture based on the project team's or customer's concepts whilst liaising with other multi-disciplined staff members and suppliers on various technical and production issues.
