These checks are only undertaken with consent, and in accordance with our legal and regulatory obligations Business Area – Finance Location: Glasgow Role: Client Billing & Rates analyst Reporting to: Billing & Rates team leader Hours of work – 37.5 Department/ Role Overview: Process billing guides, time transfer and write off for the business and provide support to the business on billing management. Maintain, review and assist with control and audit of client rates. Main responsibilities: Process billing guides from the business to client invoices. Process bill cancellations and Credit Notes Process time transfer requests from the business. Process time and disbursement write offs in line with business approval guidelines. Liaise with partners and associates in relation to unbilled/billed fee enquiries Provide support to secretaries, executive assistants, revenue controllers and business managers on billing related issues. Maintain records of billing protocols for clients and ensuring panel agreement terms are enforced Input rates for new business intake Regular support to the business amending and checking client rates Regular review and audit of fee rate sets to ensure that they reflect the correct rates as per any fee arrangements Upload and testing of new rate data as part of the annual standard rate updates Update the practice management system to reflect any timekeeper rate and rank changes throughout the year Develop client specific rate cards (internal and external versions) according to Business Development, Financial Management and partner requirements. Ensure these are kept up to date and communicated to the business Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies. Essential skills and experience: Previous experience of working within a Finance function, preferably within a professional services environment An understanding of billing and rates processes in a large international business Numerate with a keen attention to detail Organised and methodical approach to work Ability to work under pressure, deal with tight deadlines and demonstrates flexibility as required to perform the role Good communicator, the ability to communicate orally or in writing, confident telephone manner, tactful and diplomatic when in pressurised situations Team player – the ability to work co-operatively and flexibly with other team member Knowledge of Elite 3E practice management systems would be an advantage Good Excel skills Good working knowledge of VAT regulations Desired skills and experience Process improvement experience or qualification International experience would be an advantage Project management experience would be an advantage) Our Culture is shaped by our core values of Collaboration, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Accountability.
