We are currently looking for a Relationship Development Director to join LGC's world-leading National Measurement Laboratory to support and accelerate growth and reach. As the Relationship Development Director you will be responsible for leading the expansion of their regional footprint and development of business opportunities through a portfolio of both existing and new institutional, industrial and academic partnerships.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Relationship Development Director will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Lead the development, delivery and reporting of strong and mutually beneficial strategic partnership plans, acting in an efficient and appropriate manner as the first point of contact for all matters specific to these relationships

2.Develop an appropriate portfolio of existing and new collaborative relationships with key market players and influencers that support our ethos and the attainment of mutual business objectives and targets, within existing financial constraints.

3. As the Relationship Development Director you will Identify and generate new business opportunities in line with our strategy through networking, prospecting and collaborative strategies, responding to national/regional initiatives and provision of our measurement services and training to local enterprises

4. You will also support proposal writing, and drafting of collaboration agreements and contracts, as well as provide monthly management information, forecasting and progress reporting on opportunities, outcomes and impact

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Relationship Development Director we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree / PhD in a related science-based subject (i.e chemistry, analytical chemistry, life sciences / molecular biology etc) with a proven track record of research and development that will command respect in both academic and industrial circles.

2. You will have significant experience in a role centred on establishing and maintaining lasting academic or industrial collaborative relationships, preferably from within science-based organisations and have a very good knowledge of measurement science as applied to the Life Sciences.

3. It is expected you will be able to use your own established and transferable network of contacts in relevant fields, and you will be able to manage a portfolio of interactions, maximising interactions with each to their individual advantage
