Pertemps is working in partnership with a leading supplier of technology to abate toxic and global warming gases produced during the manufacture of microelectronic devices. Based at a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Clevedon just south of Bristol, the Technical support engineer will provide technical support for EMS systems and to act as an interface between the factory and the field.

- £30,000 - £33,000 per annum
- Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays
- Performance related bonus scheme
- Ample parking and subsidised canteen on site

The global population of Abatement systems is continuing to grow, products are getting much more complex and customers are getting more demanding. System commissioning and correct set up is even more important, processes are more challenging and with the time to market reducing there is a greater call on the Customer Technical Support Group to support the field and engage the factory.

About the job

- Commitment to the safety of employees and customers
- Diagnose and resolve problems in Customer and internal situations - escalating where necessary to the Customer Support Group Technical Manager and/or other specialists, including communicating as necessary outside the team
- Drive through continuous improvement of the Product Support package
- Ensure lessons learnt in the field are effectively reported back to the product development teams
- Actively support the NPI process
- Plan and control own personal work to ensure the timely delivery of solutions
- Document solutions and publish findings through the most appropriate means to ensure continued development of the knowledge in the field.

The right candidate will have

- Previous experience required as a Technical Support Engineer or in an electro-mechanical installation/commissioning/testing role.
- Interpersonal skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems
- Provide technical guidance to other staff
- Ability to communicate with all levels, both internal and external
- Confident grasp of increasingly complex technical matters, indicated by speed, accuracy and quality work
- Approachable by others for advice and assistance
- An interest in the development of detailed policies and practices
