Mobile HGV Engineer Control Team Leader - Service Advisor Supervisor is required by a major HGV and Trailer rental company to support the Control Team to provide and maintain excellent first line communication with Mobile HGV Engineers and customers to assist with the smooth running of the operation, along with effective query resolution for 3rd Party Providers.

ROLE: HGV Mobile Engineer Control Team Leader

LOCATION: Lichfield, Staffs

BASIC SALARY: £24k to £28k

HOURS: 40 hours per week


·Ensure the accurate and timely input of data on relevant internal systems

·Ensure an efficient control provision is in place for operational requirements

Organise the day to day servicing and repairs/breakdowns of their trailer fleet by use of Mobile Engineers is maintained

·Ensure accurate and timely documentation is provided to enable the administration team to process the information supplied by the Mobile Engineers & ensure all elements of the events are linked to each other

·Be the point of escalation for the Control Team

Lead, monitor, and support whilst maintaining hands on coverage to the Control Desk which:

-ensures on site servicing, inspections and defects of trailers via the use of mobile technicians is arranged as required

-monitor customer repairs, ensure that they are carried out in a timely manner whilst meeting the customers required standards

-ensures roadside assistance for breakdowns is provided and to all customers trailers 24 hours a day.

-oversee all required completed paperwork is received in a timely manner to meet Company and customers’ requirements

-ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are fully complied with all times to Customer standards.

-fully comply with all company written policies.

-engage with fleet support for efficient breakdown resolution.

-support productivity of engineers, ensuring that the control team are actively maximising their revenue potentials

-ensures all incoming calls are answered efficiently and promptly and directed to the correct person where necessary


·Minimum of 2 year’s practical experience within the commercial vehicle sector at a supervisory level

·Educated to NVQ Level 2 ideally in Business Administration and/or Supervisory skills

·IT literacy including:

-Email systems

-MS Word and MS Excel

-Databases, tracking and monitoring systems

·City & Guilds, IRTEC or NVQ qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair (essential)
