Teaching support jobs within a lovely primary setting in SouthwarkThis role is to support primary pupils who are either verbal or non verbal with a ASD statement. The role is to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil and support them throughout their learning journey. For example - Working with them to complete classroom tasks or support them in developing life skills to progress on to having a much independency as possible. This is an awarding opportunity to help ASD pupils become more sociable, make friends and be able to communicate effectively (Picture exchange communication or verbally).The school is well resourced and have a hard working team that continuously develop and grow. As a SEND Support specialist (Special educational needs) LSA working with pupils with ASD, you have the ability to inspire all those around you and you can make a difference in the life of a disadvantaged child!SEND LSA's help pupils reach their full potential as students that are likely to attend a Pupil Referral Unit, SEBD School or an Alternative Provision/Charity. As an LSA, your role will be helping challenging students overcome their behavioural issues, whilst acting as a role model and someone to look up to. The main responsibilities of this role will be to support student's behaviour, developing social skills , encouraging pupils to focus and give them structure to their day incorporating creative and clear structured activities. This is primarily a class based position however it's very likely you will end up doing 1:1 withdrawal sessions at some stage in order to maintain the progress of student's behaviour and learning.
