  • To maximize shop profit and achieve agreed sales targets
  • To manage a team of dedicated volunteers
  • To actively promote the charity and the work that they do
  • Actively recruit, Manage and retain volunteer retail assistants
  • Ensure that all volunteers are supported in their work and properly trained and inducted in the procedures involved in running the shop
  • Ensure that all volunteers are aware of and are able to follow health and safety guidelines and procedures
  • Organise a weekly volunteer rotas and ensure the shop is adequately staffed at all times

Lead on the day to day running of the shop:

  • Ensure all relevant administration is completed
  • Ensure all financial, cash handling and security procedures are followed
  • Manage sales and administration relating to bought in goods
  • Ensure adequate stock rotation is carried out in agreement with head office and other shops

Maintain a strong presence to benefit the charity:

  • Be proactive in generating donated stock
  • Process donated stock to agreed standards and timescale
  • Ensure shop and window presentation standards are met
  • Promote the shop locally in collaboration with the Fundraising and Communications Department
  • Ensure an exceptionally high level of customer care is maintained in order to create a pleasant atmosphere for customers
  • Ensure the shop meets Health and Safety regulations

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Proven retail (management / assistant manager level) experience
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Motivational leadership skills
