Principal Systems Engineer - Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS)

Would you like to be involved in designing, developing, and delivering cutting edge combat systems for the world?s most advanced military submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Systems Engineer (SWS) at our site in either Frimley or Weymouth.
As a Principal Systems Engineer (SWS), you will be carrying out a range of design, development and support activities surrounding SWS which may include navigation, fire control and guidance, missile launcher and handling systems.

This role will provide you with the chance to work with cutting edge technology as well as the opportunity to become a specialist within combat systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Systems Engineer - Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS) will involve:

Leading a small team of Systems Engineers designing and developing strategic weapon systems
Engaging with the MoD and internal stakeholders to ensure that system requirements have been correctly managed and executed
Reviewing and managing interface engineering change requests
Requirements development and management
Preparing and conducting design reviews
Development and planning of combat system verification and validation strategies and activities
Monthly reporting

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Systems Engineer - Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS):

Demonstrable experience of systems engineering of complex systems, including sub-system design and systems integration
Knowledge of systems engineering life cycle management methods and techniques
Requirements management experience

Systems design experience gained from delivery of other complex military systems demanding mission, security and safety critical functionality
