The job is a full-time opportunity for an experienced BMS engineer to work primarily in Central & West London.

Responsible for the service, maintenance, projects and commissioning of BMS systems at prestigious sites primarily in the Hospitality, Education, Healthcare and Retail Sectors. Opportunities will come in the Southeast, Surrey and the surrounding areas too.

As a BMS Controls Engineer, the role involves development and maintenance of close and effective working relationships with the installation and transition project teams, and draw upon input and resources available from user groups, external consultants, contractors and suppliers.

? Responsible for maintaining the BMS and control systems, equipment and facilities that support the efficient and compliant operation of each facility. Be the owner of these systems and provide ongoing support to ensure optimum performance throughout their life cycle
? The main objective of the BMS Controls Engineer initially is to ensure operational readiness of the BMS and associated control systems prior to handover of the facility.
? Ensure the control systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, reliably and safely, and are compliant with the relevant standards
? They will provide effective and timely trouble shooting and fault-finding support on the systems once operational to provide maximum reliability and availability
? A thorough understanding of all the building systems and operational processes and must be of a multidisciplinary mindset
? It is critical that the job holder works within the commissioning teams to ensure adequate knowledge transfer prior to the building becoming operational
? Take ownership and maintenance of the Honeywell, Trend and other open BMS/PLC control systems, stand-alone controllers and HMI?s including energy management system and power management system
? Develop alarm management protocols including critical alarm management procedures
? Act as the client for the BMS system prior to commissioning and work with the commissioning team to ensure reliable start-up of the building services
? Develop the required procedures to operate and maintain the BMS and other control systems
? Review BMS commissioning and handover plans, work with the commissioning team to ensure operational readiness
? Develop and implement PPM strategy for all BMS and control system software and hardware
? Ensure all necessary environmental controls within the building and in specialist areas conform to the required specifications and tolerances
? Maintain and modify existing systems via change control system, maintain history records, user lists, system drawings, and ensure adequate records are maintained for compliance
? Perform system back-ups and restorations
? Investigate fault logs and take necessary action
? Manage contractors, specialists and spares requirements
? Fault find on BMS and control systems, troubleshoot on the system network and components, carry our preventive maintenance and improve system reliability
? Optimise BMS control system to reduce overall building energy consumption
? Carry out maintenance and repair of equipment as required.
? Manage system upgrades and supervise contractors
? Perform network diagnostics and analysis tasks
? Maintain system access and security
? Liaise regularly with the Project Managers and Senior Engineers to ensure that all works are completed satisfactorily.
? The role is process orientated. The post holder will be working in partnership with our administration team and will need to adhere to the processes in place by returning paperwork and forwarding the relevant information in a timely manner.
