IT Assessor/Training Consultant

Salary up to £24,000 depending on experience plus benefits

Full time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

If you have a genuine interest in training, and a good IT background, this may be the job for you

The Company

YouTrain, a division of GP Strategies, are a leading training provider of IT and Microsoft training. We are a Microsoft Learning Partner and Scotland’s only Cisco Learning Partner. We work within both the public and private sector delivering Modern Apprenticeship programmes in the following areas: IT, Digital Applications, Digital Marketing, Life Sciences, Business Administration and Management. We pride ourselves on the quality and standard of our delivery and have a highly skilled and dedicated staff team.

The Role

We currently have a requirement for an IT Assessor to join our expanding team in delivering IT Apprenticeships and Diplomas. This involves working with learners in their workplace who might be complete beginners or already have IT experience, to help them achieve their IT qualification. You will work with your learners over a period of time, usually a year, and visit them regularly in their workplace to assess their competence in IT through observation and assessment of their progress against the recognised SQA standards.

Learners also attend our Stirling training premises to undertake Microsoft (or other) courses, and you may also have the opportunity to get involved in the delivery of these courses over time.

Your candidates will be based throughout Scotland therefore travel is required to customer premises, although some of the work with your learners is done remotely using our e-portfolio to keep up-to-date with learner progression.

This is a full time role based on working a 37.5 hour week, Monday – Friday.

The Individual

You do NOT have to have previous training experience (although obviously it would help!) because we can teach you to become a qualified Assessor. What we are looking for is someone with the following:

·Good occupational experience of working in an IT professional role, probably over several years at a reasonably senior or technical level

·Demonstrable interest in helping others learn and desire to take this forward in your career

·Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with learners and foster effective working relations with businesses

·Highly organised and ability to work flexibly and prioritise workload

·Outgoing individuals who offer flexibility, personality, enthusiasm and determination

·A driving licence is essential
