Part Qualified Management Accountant Position, Maternity Cover, £28,000 - £30,000, Bedford, Bedfordshire



Role

We are currently seeking a bright, ambitious and switched on Management Accountant to provide maternity cover until March 2019 (roughly 15 months). The role itself is responsible for the preparation of monthly accounts for two entities as well as the consolidation of group accounts. During the placement you will be responsible for preparation of year end accounts and reviewing the statutory accounts alongside managing all basic day to day accounting tasks, from posting invoices, making payments, bank reconciliations and data analysis. Other responsibilities include;
  • Coding and processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Uploading large batches of data to Sage
  • Checking and processing expense claims
  • Raising commission invoices
  • Two payment runs per month - one for commission and one for overheads. Includes both preparing and making payments.
  • Running monthly commission statements and emailing to intermediaries
  • Processing monthly foreign exchange deals (We work in Sterling, Euro, US Dollar, Swiss Franc and Singapore Dollars)
  • Bank, credit card and petty cash posting and reconciliation
  • Monthly cash flow reconciliation of our main bank account
  • Raising monthly dividend vouchers
  • Detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly payroll, accrual and prepayment journals
  • Produce, review and analyse monthly management accounts (comprising full profit & loss account and balance sheet for LLP and Limited company, as well as consolidated group accounts)
  • Detailed monthly analysis of all commission income and expenditure
  • Reporting management accounts to CEO and Partners on a quarterly basis
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns under partial exemption rules
  • P11D Submissions
  • Monthly NEST pension reporting (contribution schedules) and keeping up to date with any regulatory changes
  • Companies House submissions for both entities, including confirmation statements
  • Quarterly FCA compliance reporting, which requires estimations for the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Preparation of year end accounts file for external auditors
  • Audit management and liaison
  • Review and approval of the statutory accounts and tax computation prepared by auditors


Profile

The successful candidate is likely to be an ambitious, forward thinking and bright individual who has an excellent understanding of Accounting and Finance processes, they will ideally be AAT qualified and will have started towards studying their ACCA or CIMA. Intermediate Excel and Sage 50 knowledge is preferable and a good practical knowledge of VAT rules and procedures is essential.
