SHIFT EQUIPMENT ENGINEER – MANUFACTURING - MANCHESTER

SALARY £20-30,000 BASIC PLUS UP TO 44% SHIFT ALLOWANCE AND EXCELLENT BENEFITS

Based in Manchester, but with office and factory locations across the UK, Europe, US and Asia, ESS Holdings' client is a leading manufacturer semiconductor materials and devices. Ongoing growth, coupled to excellent trading conditions in the last 18 months, means they now need to make the key hire of 2 Shift Engineers.
Reporting into the Equipment Engineering Manager, the Shift Equipment Engineer will provide Equipment Engineering support to production by managing the various systems in terms of, breakdown, maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, record keeping and performance. You will play a key role driving OEE and equipment efficiency, supporting shift technicians and using your superior fault finding skills to drive route cause analysis for ongoing and reactive maintenance issues. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • The day-to-day maintenance of manufacturing systems and ancillary plant support systems.
  • Maximising the uptime of all equipment necessary for production.
  • Continual Improvement of reliability and performance of systems and equipment.
  • Proactive involvement in the support of process improvement and problem solving programmes.
  • To provide site wide engineering and maintenance support to be carried out on manufacturing systems.
  • To provide medium and long term planned preventative maintenance function and record keeping.
  • To act as the Competent Person in all activities carried out in the area for which you are responsible
  • To monitor equipment performance and identify problems and establish and implement lasting solutions to those problems.

Educated to HNC/HND calibre in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering, you are a proven and highly experienced maintenance engineer. We would be particularly keen to hear from candidates who have maintained equipment in a semiconductor or optoelectronic setting. Strong problem solving skills are a must in this role.
