The Network Services Performance and Reliability team within Oracle’s Product Engineering and Operations organization partners with Development, QA, PSR, and Operations organizations to improve infrastructure reliability and performance. The P&R team focuses on benchmarking application performance, provides network capacity and demand forecasting, and provides network architecture and root cause analysis and mitigation strategies for identified risks and areas of improvement.

Daily Responsibilities
Benchmark and baseline application performance, providing feedback to Development
Audit existing infrastructure to identify areas of improvement and risk
• Recommend mitigation strategies and follow through on approved improvement initiatives
Perform enhanced root cause analysis and recommend mitigation strategies to improve network and application reliability
• Use various monitoring tools to perform capacity planning and demand forecasting in support of Oracle’s product growth
• Provide on premise network on call and escalation assistance to the Global Network Operations Center

• Travel – 25% of time

• 5 years work experience
• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Juniper and Cisco routing, switching, and firewall experience
• Load balancer experience (F5 preferred)
Routing protocol experience (BGP, MPLS, OSFP, Internet, WAN)
BasicLinux administration experience
• Be able to work in fast-paced development environment
• Be able to analyze complex environments and problems
• Be able to work independently and with a global team
• Detail oriented
• Strong documentation skills
• Project management skills
Focus on customer experience
• Experience with packet capture and analysis such as TCPDump and Wireshark

Nice-to-have skills
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
• Experience writing scripts – Bash, Shell, Python
• Experience working with Cloud SaaS applications, IaaS, and PaaS
• Advanced Linux System Administration
