An exciting opportunity for an experienced Protein Characterisation Scientist has become available to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area as a Senior Scientist. As the Senior Scientist - Protein Characterisation you will be responsible for the planning and execution of analytical testing on therapeutic proteins to support product characterisation and bio comparability studies.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Senior Scientist - Protein Characterisation will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Providing direct laboratory analytical support for product characterisation services using techniques including but not limited to HPLC, SDS-Page, Western Blotting, SEC, IEX and Mass Spectrometry .

2. The execution of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring work is planned and scheduled appropriately and delivered to agreed timelines and quality standards.

3. Provide scientific mentoring and training to develop others and promote good scientific practice in addition to maintenance of analytical equipment, technologies and/or systems required to support product characterisation.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist - Protein Characterisation we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry etc.) in addition to industry experience.

2. Proven industry experience within Protein Characterisation is vital, ideally within a Biopharmaceutical setting.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with any or all of the following skill sets: HPLC, Western Blotting, SDS-Page, UPLC, SEC, RP, IEX, MS, capillary electrophoresis and glycosylation.
