Electrical Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer

As Continuous Improvement Engineer you will be responsible for on-going internal engineering support activities on Reveal`s products. The Engineer will work closely with the internal cross functional team members in quality, customer care, engineering, program management and product management as well as external vendors, development partners and manufacturing partners to facilitate root causing in-field product issues in a timely, reliable and cost-optimized manner.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will have responsibility to provide high quality technical assistance and utilize strong experience to diagnose and troubleshoot an array of potential field issues across Reveal`s entire product line.

  • Working cross-functionally with product managers, quality team, engineering, customers and customer support to identify field issues as they arise
  • Work closely with outside suppliers to identify, root cause and solve product quality issues. A sense of ownership and drive is required to arrive at a conclusion and plan with suppliers
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and software product feature-sets and drive solutions with outside partners
  • Independently research solutions, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and provide actionable direction
  • Work with vendors, partners and design services firms to execute to plan.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to articulate and present to upper management detailed status and milestone deliverables related to sustaining engineering activities
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritize issues and tasks as they arise
  • Coordinate projects closely with Program Management to insure timely product execution
  • Report project status, escalate issues and communicate effectively in written and oral form with the product, quality and customer support groups

About you

  • Minimum of 7 years' direct technical engineering or product development experience
  • Past multi-disciplined and recommended to have electrical and software background and/or experience in consumer electronics and ODM/CM development model and processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Rapid learner of new technologies and tools
  • Adaptability to changing priorities
  • Extremely detail oriented, able to locate errors and correct promptly
  • Extremely organized, functional and resourceful with ability think through process and come to resolution
  • Able to exercise discretion and use sound judgement
  • Deadline oriented in an environment with minimal supervision
  • Must be efficient with all common MS Office programs and utilities
  • Available for occasional travel to various partner sites either domestically or internationally to successfully execute product quality resolution.
  • This position is known by many titles and you may have previously been a Technical Applications Engineer, Sustaining Engineer or Internal Support Engineer

Desirable experience and skills (advantageous but not required)

  • Background with working with third party manufacturers
  • A passion for consumer electronic products and ideally prior experience with portable outdoor products
