Aims and Purpose of the Post:

To develop, maintain and manage the Web/Digital based systems at for internal and external users.

Key Roles & Accountabilities:

·Develop our client’s systems in-line with the agreed strategies and priorities.

·To identify and exploit opportunities to use new, existing and emerging technologies for the distribution and collection of information.

·To contribute to the development of electronic individual learning platforms (VLE) and other aids to support teaching and learning.

·Promote and develop the integration of our client’s systems to provide streamlined and efficient processes.

·Assist in the development of a corporate Internet / Digital strategy working with our client’s stakeholders.

·To fully document all systems being developed in a structured and consistent manor which can then be used in a collaborative environment to support future development.

·To provide support to staff on the use of the web based systems.

Experience & knowledge of the following are essential:

·ASP.NET (including Active Directory Integration)

•C# .NET




•SQL / SQL server integration services



•Understanding of software development lifecycle, and managing software projects

•Experience of developing web applications

•Relevant industry experience with the ability to demonstrate an up to date knowledge

•Ability to demonstrate an up to date knowledge of Web / smart application development.

•Substantial experience of working in a similar role

•Knowledge of an education management information system (College or School)

•Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in English & Maths, or commitment to gaining within 24mths of appointment

•Suitability and motivation to work with children and vulnerable adults

•Accountable and takes responsibility

•Desire for finding solutions to problems

•Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team; Able to motivate self and others

•Must be innovative, friendly and approachable, and highly professional in conducting duties

•Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure

•Willing and able to work with both open source and commercial technology solutions

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience & knowledge of the following are desirable:


·Kentico Theme Development

·Kentico Module Development



·W3C Accessibility Standards



·Understanding of software development life-cycle, and managing software projects

·Experience of client-server systems

·Degree or higher qualification in a computer or business-related discipline
