I.T. Technical Graduate Scheme - BDUK
Purpose: Boeing Defence United Kingdom (BDUK) requires talented, recent university graduates to join its Graduate Scheme. BDUK is a rapidly growing part of the Boeing Company operating across the UK delivering a number of key programmes of work.
Starting in September 2018, the two year scheme will see the successful applicants undertake four six month placements across a number of key disciplines within the Boeing Information Services business and will be followed by
The scheme will give a graduate the chance to cover a diverse range of areas fundamental to understanding successful IT technical roles. The two year programme puts an emphasis on learning in the workplace on live projects across key teams involved in the chosen area, supported by theoretical learning. With the support from motivated and highly qualified colleagues in the business, graduates will work in teams across the organisation to develop understanding of the key functions and skills which underpin successful IT technical roles. Therefore, by the time graduates have completed their placements at BDUK, they will have the qualifications, along with all the skills and experience, for a successful career in in their chosen area.
Alongside these placements all graduate scheme employees will be provided with a study support package to achieve a relevant professional qualification, alongside other internal training opportunities. In addition you will be assigned a buddy and a senior member of the team will be allocated as a mentor to aid the personal development of each graduate. The scheme will be overseen and administered by a dedicated scheme coordinator to ensure that challenging placements and development opportunities are provided to each graduate.
Placement areas are:
- Information Services Capabilities Centre of Excellence (includes Project Delivery Method, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, Information Security and Test)
- Distributed Information Services (understanding of Operational IT - Infrastructure, Service Management and Data Analytics)
- Solution Architecture
- Application Support
- Skilled team member/contributor
- Business (financial) acumen
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Driving for business results
- Customer satisfaction focus
- IT proficient (particularly Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with a focus for detail
- Drive and Enthusiasm
- Integrity and strong ethical values
- Qualified to degree level in computer science, mathematics, engineering or similar with at least a 2:1 degree classification
