Role: Continuous Improvement Project Engineer
Location: Accrington

Our client a successful manufacturing firm requires a Continuous Improvement Project Leader. In this key role you will be part of the Continuous Improvement Team, responsible for identifying improvement opportunities within manufacturing, implementing improvement projects and evaluating results. You will work closely with all areas of the business to identify and achieve improvements.
Duties to include
  • Provide the site and production team with solutions to minimise and maximise input and output of work and strengthen processes to do this in a more lean and streamline way
  • Demonstrate opportunities for improvements through a line-balancing process and assembly observation
  • Assist the Department in the creation and maintenance of operation standard documents, finished product care point sheets, packaging specification documents etc. (OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Ongoing involvement in projects to improve the site communication, automation, layout, process improvement and cost reduction
  • Experience of lean six sigma business processes and an ability to conduct and create process flow diagrams is required

Person Spec
  • Preferably from an engineering/manufacturing background and experience of lean manufacturing
  • Experience of creating process flow diagrams an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, able to question certain processes and improve these
  • Analytical skills
  • A positive and driven, Can-do attitude
  • Ability to drive forward initiatives with confidence
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
