Teaching Assistant - Leicester - Special Needs -Competitive daily rate - Immediate Start - Long term

Your new company
A SEND School catering for children from 4 - 19 years old with a range of Special Needs are current seeking Teaching Assistants for their primary phase for immediate start due to an influx of pupils in the new Academic year.

Your new role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be working within Foundation and Primary with pupils 1:1 or in small groups with other Academic support staff. Your main duty is to ensure the pupils you support are cared for at all times and are consistently working to positive outcomes.

You will be supporting pupils with a range of Special Needs including physical disabilities, mild to severe learning difficulties and non-commutative pupils and so you will require a caring and resilient nature with a passion for working with children. At times you may be expected to provide personal care where full support and training will be provided.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be passionate about working with children with Special Needs and have recent experience working within childcare, ideally with Early Years or lower Primary aged pupils. You will need up to date knowledge of safeguarding with young and vulnerable pupils and any curriculum knowledge from EYFS-KS1 curriculum would be desired.

A Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent is also desired but not essential along with any training courses such as manual handling.

What you'll get in return
You will be offered full time on-going temporary work in a SEN setting with a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to learn from qualified and experienced SEND staff. After a period of supply there will also be the opportunity to apply for longer term and permanent work if desired.

You will be supported throughout your assignment by a dedicated Hays employee and the opportunity to undertake additional training if desired.
